Goddess Appears

I wasn’t sure that I’d ever know you

Cracked eggshell door beckoning

Lock easily opened

I nod my head

Red painted words forbidding me

‘None shall ever enter’

I break the rules

Battering ram my shoulder

Into the center of the door

Splinter and crack the cold wood

And it all falls to the floor

A pool of light emanates

Low beneath the surface

And I arise

The Goddess appears

Young and full of boredom

Beautiful as the ocean

Singing simple little tunes
