Gus and the TV (Columbus, OH) have been performing and releasing original music since 2017, after Gus Dieker, the band’s front man, purchased the TV at a thrift store for $8. Early songs included “Most Cars,” “TV Has Dreams,” and “Say,” proving the band could hit notes catchy, quirky, and heart-breaking. In 2022, while filming a musical special for broadcast on Channel 3, GUS AND THE TV were recruited by a metaphysical being to save the world from a shape-shifting artificial super-intelligence manifesting itself as the artist Duchamp. The adventure is currently streaming on NoBudge and YouTube as Gus and the TV Special (TV Edit). On June 21, 2023 (the summer solstice), Gus and the TV released a quadruple album of 52 songs which encompass the seasons of the calendar year. As to the future, as GUS AND THE TV says, “Stay tuned!”
