Built on friendships more than two decades old, Blind Engineer grew out of a 2013 lo-fi recording project by Robert Loss titled Black-Letter Ballads, vol. 2. Loss recruited drummer Bill Heingartner, Loss' bandmate in The Wells, and Eric Nassau (Devil Doves, The Goldsberrys) on bass guitar. Young gun Jesse Charles joined the band on lead guitar to record the 2016 EP, The Big Restless. Four years later, Blind Engineer released its first full-length album, Human Capital.
